Africa PC is an established computer refurbisher. Operating out of Durban and Cape Town, South Africa, we have been providing quality refurbished PC’s to the African market since 2002.

OUR AIM :

Our aim at Africa PC is to provide a quality service, in what has long since been a volatile industry. What we do differently to our competitors is that we offer professionally refurbished computer equipment which incorporates both quality and service; all at an affordable price. As we are confident in our product, we offer a 1 Year carry in warranty on all the equipment we sell, whether it be complete refurbished computer systems or individual components.

Unlike our competitors, we believe in selling hardware that is able to deal with today’s processing demands, hence, none of our refurbished computers are under a p4 specification, and all are able to run today’s most demanding of operating systems. Thus, our refurbished computers will have many useful years of service to offer their owners. We currently specialize in various specification refurbished Pentium 4 PC’s.

Not only do we deal in refurbished computer equipment, but, due to great depth in our supplier base, and years of experience within our it sourcing department, we are able to source just about any refurbished it products. So if you require something out of the ordinary, please feel free to contact us, and know that we will be able to source it for you.

At Africa PC we are dedicated to providing southern Africa with the affordable technology it needs. We feel that it is our responsibility to add value to the community around us, hence, we have been involved in charity work with the less privileged, and have helped non-profit organisations close the technology divide.

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR DONATION PROJECTS

GAP COLLEGE (JULY 2020)

The GAP College was established at the end of 2016 to fill the gap – quite literally – between Remedial Teaching and Special Needs Learning. They target marginalized and vulnerable children in their community and surrounding areas and provide education, stimulation and a full nutritional programme to them in a safe environment. In a bid to build self-esteem and keep up with global trends, they have introduced technology to the older learners and are very pleased to announce that Africa PC donated two fully refurbished desk-top computers, screens and related hardware for the Robotics and Social Coding Project.

LAKEHAVEN CHILD AND YOUTH CARE CENTRE (NOV 2018)

November 2018 saw Africa PC donate two Dell Core i5 Computers to Lakehaven Child and Youth Care Centre. These will be use in their library for projects and research.

After coming across THE PINK LADIES organisation and seeing the work they do, we felt motivated to reach out and offer a donation of some Dell i5 PCS. Jacqi was extremely grateful with the donation. These pcs will assist in the work they do in searching for missing children.

WOMEN AGAINST RAPE (JULY 2016)

Samantha from Women Against Rape contacted us requesting assistance with regards to a laptop that was needed for counselling and victim support administration.

ZAMANATHI SKILLS ACADEMY

ZAMANATHI SKILLS ACADEMY (NPC) (DEC 2018)

In December we were contacted by Andrew from P.O.R.C (Pinetown off road club) requesting assistance in donating some computers to Zamanathi Skills Academy. We shared their passion for this cause and donated two complete Dell Computers and screens. Zamanathi’s mission is to empower youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with computer skills and expose them to the better standard of living of the 4th Industrial revolution.

We identified CHOC childhood cancer foundation and learned that they needed groceries for the moms and children living there. It was an easy decision to assist this worthwhile foundation. We donated a few trolleys worth groceries.

ZULULAND OBSERVER

Responding to a call on east coast radio’s rhino watch programme, Darren Wood of Africa PC in Durban has donated two computers to the Zap-Wing (Zululand Anti-Poaching Airwing) operations room being set up at their base in Hluhluwe.

On receiving the donation, Zap-Wing leader Lawrence Munro said that although the ops room is still very much in the setting up stages, the computers will form an integral part of the administrative functions.

It is envisaged that the ops room will also be used as a meeting room for the planning of anti-poaching operations and the computers will be connected to a large television screen which will greatly assist in discussions where maps and diagrams can be easily shown to participants who will not have to huddle around a lap-top computer.

Zap-Wing serves all owners of rhino within their area of operation.

These areas include the private and public sector.

The only criteria used in developing the operational area was that the landowners must have rhino on their property.

The ops room is being set up to accommodate combined operations that will roll out in northern Zululand over the next few months.

‘These combined operations will pull in elements of the SAPA Airwing, specialised SAPS units as well as facilitate the SANDF involvement up along the Mozambique border and then obviously the conservationists namely Ezemvelo, Inyathi Apu and a whole multitude of private conservationists out there that are protecting their rhino and working together to stop this rhino poaching,’ says Munro.

We have donated 10 Santa Shoe Boxes to a worthy cause, in both 2012 and 2013.

We are passionate about this project and will continue to support it.

SISONKE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION

SISONKE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION (2011)

Sbo Ncwane, the project coordinator contacted us requesting assistance with a very worthwhile community project. Naturally we saw that they were in need of a computer and gladly donated a complete Pentium 4 computer with printer.

Sisonke community organization is based near Amanzimtoti in Kwazulu-Natal and aims to offer free computer training to disadvantaged communities. This is something we would love to see more of. If you would like to donate one of our computers to this very worthy cause, please contact us as we would love to assist in making this happen.

COMPUTER DONATION GETS SCHOOL CONNECTED

Get connected at the computer hand-over to Mathebethu Primary School… were Darren Wood, Gus Hilson (Hillcrest Rotary Club), Bernard Gaza (school headmaster) and Robbie Francis (Africa PC, UK).

School children in the valley of 1000 hills have taken a step into the world of modern technology. Thanks to the Hillcrest Rotary Club and Africa PC, 10 computers were supplied to Mathebethu Primary School, with another two given to the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

“It came about thanks to Africa PC’s director in South Africa Darren Wood approaching our club and asking for assistance in distributing refurbished computers brought in from the UK to worthy causes. We easily identified where they would be beneficial and, as an added bonus, Darren has pledged to work with Hillcrest Rotary on more such projects,” said Hillcrest Rotarian, Dennis Wesley. Having installed the computers, Darren has ensured that personnel from Africa PC will be available to assist staff and pupils with training as the computer bug bites.

MAGUT PRIVAATSKOOL (2009-2010)

Africa PC with the help of Tobie Mostert (importer of Omron microair electronic nebulizer units) who is involved in a project in Swaziland identified a school there that was in need of a computer. One of our refurbished computers was handed over to Theresa Rautenbach of Magut Privaatskool by Tobie Mostert.
